Here at Stone Soup Academy we aim to deliver the best careers and employability we possibly can. Our careers and employability programme gives students opportunities to develop transferable skills, ensuring that they are fully supported to make informed choices about the next stage in their education, employment or training. Our aim for all of our young people is that they go on to lead happy, successful and fulfilling careers in the future.

Here at Stone Soup Academy your child is entitled to:-

• Find out about qualifications, apprenticeships and opportunities, as part of a careers programme which provides information on the full range of education and training options available

• Hear about the opportunities they offer, including technical education and apprenticeships through options events and taster events

• Understand how to make applications for the full range of academic and technical courses.

• Have opportunities for guidance interviews with a careers advisor. Interviews will be made available whenever significant study or career choices are being made.

• Develop employability skills (including CV, interview, application skills) and engage with local employers

Other opportunities available to our students include:-

Apprenticeship fairs – Your child will have the opportunity to go to an apprenticeship fair to meet and speak directly with employers, find out more information about what apprenticeships can offer and have a real look for work, training or apprenticeship opportunities

Confetti College Visits – Confetti are the specialist creative industry institute part of Nottingham Trent University and their Creative Quarter campus is home to the very best technology, studios and equipment, industry-connected tutors and over 1600 passionate and committed students. Their graduates can go on to careers in music, gaming, TV, film, live events, graphic design and many more. And we take your child along to visit this College if they have a passion for these subjects.
